I had the incredible privilege of styling and staging the Waterside Project, a stunning property overlooking Pittwater Estuary in Sydney. This breathtaking location called for interiors that complemented the natural beauty outside while creating a warm, inviting space for holiday guests.

Embracing the Waterside Setting

The first step in the project was to let the location guide the design. With panoramic views of the estuary, it was essential that the interiors felt light, airy, and connected to the outdoors. Soft, natural colours, layered textures, and carefully curated furniture were used to enhance the sense of calm and serenity.

Styling for a Holiday Let

Staging a property as a holiday let requires a balance between style and functionality. The goal is to create a space that feels luxurious and welcoming while being durable and practical for guests.

In the Waterside Project, I carefully considered every detail - from cosy throws and plush cushions to ambient lighting and curated décor pieces - to ensure each room felt thoughtfully styled. The aim was to make guests feel at home immediately, while still enjoying the sophistication and elegance of a professionally designed space.

Layering Textures and Character

To bring depth and character to the property, I layered natural materials such as timber, linen, and woven fabrics with contemporary furniture pieces. This approach added warmth and elegance, making each space feel inviting yet timeless. The styling also ensured that the spectacular estuary views remained the focus, with furniture placement and accessories enhancing, rather than competing with, the scenery.

The Value of Professional Styling

The Waterside Project demonstrates the transformative impact of professional styling and staging. By thoughtfully curating furniture, finishes, and decorative elements, I was able to create a property that not only looks stunning in photos but also provides a seamless, enjoyable experience for guests.

Even though this project was in Sydney, the principles of design, layering, and attention to detail are the same I bring to every project as an interior designer in Bristol and Bath. Whether it’s a holiday let or a family home, thoughtful interiors elevate the experience and value of a property.

Interior Designer Bristol: Elevating Every Space

If you’re considering styling, staging, or a full interior design project, whether it’s a home or a holiday property, the value of a professional designer is clear. I bring an obsessive attention to detail, an understanding of materials and finishes, and a curated approach to creating spaces that feel both elegant and welcoming.
