Khaya Studio Named Finalist in the SBID International Design Awards 2026

We are absolutely delighted to share that Khaya Studio has been shortlisted as a Finalist in the Society of British & International Interior Design (SBID) Awards 2026.

Our Failand Farmhouse project has been recognised in the Residential Budget Up to £50,000 (UK) category, placing it alongside some of the country's finest residential interior design projects.

For a small independent studio, this is an incredible honour and one we are immensely proud of.

Recognising Thoughtful Design

The SBID Awards celebrate excellence in interior design across the UK and internationally, recognising projects that demonstrate exceptional creativity, technical excellence and attention to detail.

To have our work acknowledged by such a respected organisation is both humbling and hugely encouraging.

At Khaya Studio, every project begins with the architecture of the building. Rather than applying a signature style, we strive to create interiors that feel as though they have always belonged - spaces that respect the character of the property while reflecting the personalities and lifestyles of the people who call it home.

About the Failand Farmhouse Project

Located on the outskirts of Bristol, Failand Farmhouse is a beautiful detached stone property surrounded by rolling countryside.

The brief was to breathe new life into a formal sitting room that had become outdated and underused, creating a space that felt lighter, more welcoming and better suited to modern family life while remaining sympathetic to the character of the farmhouse.

The design introduced a calming palette of soft greens and warm amber tones inspired by the surrounding landscape, alongside engineered oak flooring, bespoke curtains and carefully considered lighting. Faux ceiling beams were added to celebrate the client's long-held dream of living in a home with exposed beams, while furniture was thoughtfully arranged to create a more intimate and sociable layout.

The finished room feels calm, timeless and deeply connected to both the architecture of the house and its idyllic setting.
