Before & After: Kellaway Avenue:

One of the most rewarding parts of my work as an interior designer is seeing the transformation that takes place between the first site visit and the finished installation.

Today I’m sharing some of the before and after photographs from our Kellaway Avenue project in Bristol - a project that demonstrates just how much potential can be unlocked through thoughtful interior design.

Before

Every project starts with a careful assessment of what is already there. Rather than immediately thinking about what needs to be replaced, I like to consider what a space is lacking and, importantly, what it could become.

The existing rooms at Kellaway Avenue provided the foundations, but they lacked the sense of cohesion, character and considered detail that the clients were looking for.

The challenge was to create interiors that felt beautiful and elevated, while remaining practical and comfortable for everyday family life.

The transformation

Good interior design isn't necessarily about making dramatic changes to every element of a room. Often, it's about making the right changes.

Through considered choices of colour, furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes and accessories, we were able to completely change the atmosphere of these spaces.

The finished rooms feel more cohesive and intentional, with each element working together rather than competing for attention. Layers of texture and carefully selected furnishings add warmth and personality, while the overall scheme gives the home a more sophisticated and timeless feel.

This is also where the importance of working with an experienced interior designer in Bristol comes into its own. Creating a beautiful room is one thing; ensuring that every room works together as part of a wider home is another.

The result

The transformation at Kellaway Avenue is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a home is approached as a whole.

The finished interiors feel warm, sophisticated and personal, while still being practical enough for everyday life. Most importantly, they feel like they belong to the people who live there.

For me, that is always the ultimate measure of a successful project. I don't want my interiors to feel as though they have been imposed upon a property. I want them to feel as though they were always meant to be there.

I’m so pleased with the finished result and loved seeing the transformation unfold throughout the project.
