Why You’ll Work Directly With Me at Khaya Studio
When you appoint Khaya Studio, you aren’t handed over to a team.
You work with me.
From our very first conversation through to the final styling touches, I remain your designer, your point of contact, and your guide throughout the entire process.
For many of my clients across Bristol, Bath and Somerset, this is not just reassuring - it’s one of the main reasons they choose to work with me.
Founder-Led, By Design
Larger studios often operate with multiple layers:
Sales consultations
Account managers
Junior designers
Procurement teams
Installation coordinators
While that structure works for some, it can dilute the experience.
Communication can become fragmented. Vision can shift subtly between hands.Decisions can take longer than expected.
At Khaya Studio, I intentionally operate differently.
You will always work directly with the founder - the person whose name and reputation are behind every project.
Why That Matters
Interior design is deeply personal.
You are inviting someone into your home, sharing how you live, how you relax, how you entertain, how you want your space to feel.
That level of trust deserves continuity.
When you work with me, there is:
No dilution of vision
No miscommunication between departments
No disconnect between concept and delivery
No layers of management
Just one clear, consistent design direction - carried from start to finish.
The Full Design Journey
I absolutely relish taking my clients on the entire design journey.
From the initial brief - where we explore not only how you live, but how you want to live - through to the final styling day, I remain hands-on and fully invested.
Our process typically unfolds as follows:
1. Initial Consultation & Brief
We explore your lifestyle, aspirations, practical requirements and architectural context. This stage is about listening deeply and understanding what truly matters to you.
2. Moodboarding & Concept Development
This is where the creative direction begins to take shape. We refine colour palettes, materials, textures and overall atmosphere - ensuring the concept feels aligned and considered.
3. Design Development
Layouts are resolved, furniture selections are refined, lighting schemes are layered and architectural detailing is thoughtfully integrated.
4. Specification & Procurement
I carefully specify finishes, fabrics, furnishings and fittings - balancing longevity, quality and aesthetic coherence. Orders are placed and timelines managed.
5. Liaising with Trades
I coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure the design is executed as intended. Attention to detail at this stage is critical.
6. Installation & Styling
Finally, we install and style the space - the most satisfying moment of all. It’s here that everything comes together and your home begins its next chapter.
Throughout each stage, you work directly with me.
A Relationship, Not Just a Project
Because I personally oversee every detail, I build genuine relationships with my clients.
I know:
How you take your coffee
Where you prefer to read
How your children move through the space
How you host friends
Which pieces you already cherish
Those insights inform the design in subtle but meaningful ways.
When projects are delegated across teams, that intimacy can be lost.
For my clients - often busy professionals or families in Bristol and Bath who value both efficiency and discretion - this continuity is invaluable.
Accountability & Integrity
There’s also a simple truth:
When your name is on the door, you care deeply.
Every design decision, every specification, every detail reflects not just the studio - but me personally.
Operating as a founder-led interior design studio allows me to:
Maintain consistent quality
Protect the integrity of each project
Respond quickly and directly
Stay fully invested
There is no “handing over” at any stage.
The Luxury of Attention
True luxury is not excess.
It is attention.
Attention to detail.Attention to proportion.Attention to how a room feels at different times of day.Attention to how a space supports your life.
By working closely and directly with every client across Somerset, the Cotswolds, Bristol and Bath, I’m able to offer a level of focus that larger studios often cannot.
This isn’t about scale.
It’s about care.
Is This Right for You?
A founder-led service suits clients who:
Value discretion
Want clarity and direct communication
Appreciate a consistent creative vision
Prefer quality over volume
Want to feel genuinely understood
If you are looking for a large, multi-layered agency structure, I may not be the right fit - and that’s absolutely fine.
But if you value a thoughtful, personal and deeply invested approach, Khaya Studio was built precisely for that.
Designing Homes Across Bristol, Bath & Somerset
As an interior designer working across period properties and countryside homes, I believe the design journey should feel as considered as the end result.
It should feel collaborative.Calm.Exciting.Supported.
Most importantly, it should feel personal.
Because when you work with Khaya Studio, you’re not hiring a team.
You’re working with me.
And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
