RHIWBINA AIRBNB
The Rhiwbina Airbnb had previously been used as a long-term rental and, over time, had lost any sense of personality or warmth. Internally, the property felt like a sterile white box - functional, but lacking character and emotional connection.

The client approached Khaya Studio with the aim of transforming the house into a welcoming Airbnb property, one that would perform well commercially while also offering a comfortable retreat for personal use. A limited budget was in place, calling for a thoughtful, creative approach.

DESIGN INTENT

Our brief was to bring the property to life through the use of colour, texture, and characterful furnishings, while working carefully within budget. We began by taking inspiration from the existing kitchen tiles, using them as the starting point for a cohesive colour palette that could flow naturally throughout the home.

Rather than relying on new furniture, we focused on sourcing antique pieces and vintage treasures, allowing the interiors to feel layered, authentic, and full of charm. Each item was selected not only for its aesthetic appeal, but for its ability to add warmth and individuality to the space.

Art, soft furnishings, and carefully chosen accessories were then layered in to complete the scheme, helping to soften the interiors and create a sense of ease and comfort.
