My Favourite Dog Walks In and Around Bristol

One of the many things I love about living and working as an interior designer in Bristol is how easily the city blends beautiful architecture with access to nature. Within minutes, you can step away from the bustle and into open green spaces, woodland trails or sweeping countryside views.
As a dog owner, these walks have become a regular part of my week - a chance to reset, gather inspiration and enjoy some of the most scenic spots Bristol has to offer.
Here are a few of my favourite dog walks in and around Bristol.
Stoke Park Estate
Stoke Park Estate is, without question, one of Bristol’s most iconic landscapes. Rolling hills, expansive views and the striking yellow Dower House make it feel almost cinematic.
It’s particularly special at dusk, when the light softens and the city skyline glows in the distance. The open space gives dogs plenty of freedom, while the ever-changing views make it a walk you never tire of.

Ashton Court Estate
A firm favourite for many Bristolians, Ashton Court offers acres of parkland, woodland and deer parks to explore.
A helpful tip - you can park for free along Long Ashton Road, making it an easy and accessible option for a longer walk.
Whether you’re wandering through the woods or enjoying the open grassland, it’s a wonderfully versatile spot for both energetic dogs and more relaxed strolls.

North Stoke & St Martin’s Church
For something a little quieter and more rural, North Stoke is a hidden gem.
Starting at St Martin’s Church, you’re immediately met with breathtaking views stretching out towards Cheddar. The landscape feels vast and open, with a real sense of calm and escape. It’s the perfect walk when you want to feel completely removed from the city.

Conham River Park
Conham River is a beautiful, slightly lesser-known walk that follows the River Avon.
There’s free parking nearby, and the riverside path offers a gentle, scenic route that’s ideal year-round. In the summer months, one of the highlights is the small boat crossing - a lovely novelty that takes you across the river where you can stop for a refreshment before heading back.
It’s a relaxed, enjoyable walk with just the right amount of charm.

Snuff Mills
Snuff Mills is a favourite for its woodland setting and peaceful atmosphere.
Following the River Frome, the walk is shaded, tranquil and perfect on warmer days. The mix of water, greenery and winding paths makes it particularly enjoyable for dogs, with plenty to explore along the way.

Finding Inspiration in Everyday Moments
Spending time outdoors is not only important for wellbeing, but it’s also a constant source of inspiration. The colours, textures and natural combinations found in these landscapes often find their way into my work - whether subtly influencing a palette or inspiring a more grounded, organic feel within a home.
As an interior designer in Bristol, I always believe that the best interiors are those that feel connected to their surroundings - calm, considered and rooted in a sense of place.
If you’re local to Bristol or the surrounding areas and are thinking about transforming your home, I’d love to help you create a space that feels as considered and uplifting as the places you enjoy most.
